Flamenco Vivo proudly presents Sonia Franco’s flamenco workshop hosted at CCC St. Veronica.
Sonia Franco, a dancer and choreographer from Madrid, has been moving and creating since childhood. She is currently a member of Ballet Flamenco Sara Baras, she has graced the stage with Compañía María Pagés and regularly performs in the tablaos of Spain. In 2017 Sonia received the Flamenco Vivo Carlota Santana prize at the Certamen de Coreografía de Danza Española y Flamenco for her original work “Ser.Rana”, and spent one week in residency at the Center for Flamenco Arts leading a workshop in choreography creation through the flamenco lens in 2018. Sonia’s current solo work as choreographer with the Musical Improv Dance Company, “Loser y Vida”, will premiere in NYC in January of 2020.
