From the arrival of early Spanish and Flamenco dance in the 19th century to the present day resident and touring companies\, you will find out how flamenco took root in New York City\, and came of age right on American soil. With the 100 years of Flamenco in New York City exhibit serving as the foundation\, exhibit curators and flamenco experts Ninotchka Bennahum and Meira Goldberg will take you through the pivotal moments in the evolution of the art form within the United States. \nThe “100 Years of Flamenco in NYC“ exhibit was imagined in 2009 by Flamenco Vivo Artistic Director\, Carlota Santana\, and was on display at the Vincent Astor Gallery in the New York Public Library for the Performing Arts from March 13 – August 3\, 2013. Accompanied by a 180 page catalogue by curators Ninotchka Bennahum and K.
