The first ever awards of their kind, Premios Orgullo Flamenco were “born in support of culture, diversity, and justice.” In this first edition of hopefully many, Antonio Canales is the much-deserved honoree. The award will be presented in a grand gala in Madrid featuring performances by flamenco artists like Kiki Morente, Lin Cortés, and Canales himself.
Join these three storytellers as they celebrate their survival amidst the barriers that diminish collective liberation. Rooted in the freedom in which their crafts provide them and in dialogue with live music, this trio invites the audience to pause, witness, and receive three women boldly taking the floor here and NOW— featuring Flamenco Dancer (and Flamenco Vivo Teaching Artist) Arielle Rosales, Tap Dancer Amanda Castro, and Kathak Dancer Brinda Guha.
Hint: He’s accompanied by some big names in flamenco!
