ADVENTURES OF FREDDY THE FLAMENCO LOVER
Flamenco Summer Festivals in Andalucía
Now that the local flamenco festivals have started again in Andalucía, after a pause during lockdown, there are so many options to admire great flamenco around the outskirts of Sevilla. So the past few weekends, I could be found visiting the different villages like Burguillos, San José de la Rinconada, Santiponce, Guillena, and Tomares to see the best artists perform and celebrate flamenco until late into the night. What a pleasure to be able to live in Sevilla, Andalucia— the place to see the best flamenco in the world.
In these recent festivals, I’ve been able to experience performances with singers like Rafael de Utrera, Anabel Valencia Vargas, Antonio Reyes, María Terremoto, El Perrito, La Tana, Pedro El Granaíno, Juana la del Pipa, and Manuel de la Tomasa. I’ve heard guitar players like Antonio Gámez, Nono Reyes, Antonio Carrión, Manuel Valencia, David de Arahal, Eduardo Rebollar, Santiago Moreno, Dani de Morón, and so many more. And dancers like Farruquito, La Lupi, Mercedes de Córdoba, and some female artists who sing and dance. In the coming weeks, I will once again be going to flamenco festivals around Sevilla, the flamenco capital of the world. Who knows, maybe I’ll see you there!
Friendly greetings from Freddy Flamencolover! Oleeeeeee!
