We recently held our annual Tablao Flamenco run at (Le) Poisson Rouge, but with an exciting addition: classical Spanish dance! Our guest artist Estela Alonso, who joined us by way of none other than the 2024 Madrid Certamen de Coreografía as the Flamenco Vivo prize recipient, brought her expertise in escuela bolera to the stage here in NYC. This was an exciting first for us, a rare chance to showcase the full spectrum of Spanish dance and educate our local audience about this important style, and it was all the more special to do so with the renowned artist pushing for its preservation in Spain.
