Provide Space for Artistic Exploration

Flamenco Vivo launched Artists in Residence Exchange (AiRe) in 2017 after recognizing a critical need for dedicated creation and incubation time for culturally specific and percussive dance artists. Each year 2-3 early career choreographers receive 100 hours of free studio space, a feedback session midway through creation, and support for an informal culminating production. As the affordability crisis continues to displace more artists and spaces, AiRe helps maintain vital creative space for percussive dance artists that is technically suited for their needs, preserves culturally specific, traditional dance forms, and paves the way for future success of these artists.rnrnMAKE A DONATION!

Cultivate A Nationwide Flamenco Community

Flamenco Vivo tours extensively across the United States, performing at 77 venues in 27 states in the past five seasons alone. We perform at leading theaters and University venues, but also intentionally target under-reached communities, including many where we provide audiences with their first exposure to flamenco. The company also maintains a second home base in Durham, NC where we produce an annual home season and conduct arts education programs across the state.rnrnMAKE A DONATION!

Mentor Aspiring Flamenco Artists

Now in its 5th year, the Flamenco Certamen USA is an international competition that provides 10 pre-professional flamenco dancers with mentorship, experience working with live musicians, and the opportunity to perform in a live competition at Lincoln Center. Finalists compete for cash prizes, a trip to the Madrid Certamen de Coreografu00eda de Danza Espau00f1ola y Flamenco and scholarships to attend workshops with renowned teachers in Spain. Previous Certamen Finalists have gone on to form their own companies, produce their own shows, perform with Flamenco Vivo II, and teach in our arts education programs.
