From flamenco’s most renowned dynasties, the Farruco Fernández family recently came together for a holiday flamenco celebration (known as a zambomba.) All three living generations of talent were present onstage, from Juan and Soléa, just 9 and 10 years old, to Farruquito, el Farru, and Farruca!
This past weekend, the recently formed LGBTQI+ feminist peña, La Lola, held its very first conference. The peña is the first of its kind and stands for “Diversity in its broadest sense… a flamenco space for all corporalities.”

Answer: LOLA FLORES! A multi-hyphenate performing artist (singer-actress-dancer), this star signed a contract of 6 million pesetas in exchange for being featured in five films. Many of her biggest hits were born from these movies, one of which was the song “Ay Pena Penita Pena.” Check out the scene featuring this song from the film of the same name.
