Executive Director
Hanaah joined Flamenco Vivo in 2011 as Company Manager and Managing Director and was named Executive Director in July 2017. She is a graduate of Florida State University with a BFA in Dance and Spanish and completed the 2016 Executive Program in Arts & Culture Strategies through National Arts Strategies and Penn University. Hanaah served as the Project Manager of “100 Years of Flamenco in New York,” a multimedia exhibit curated by Flamenco Vivo in conjunction with the New York Public Library for the Performing Arts. She was a 2014 Emerging Leaders of New York Arts Fellow and currently serves on their Board of Directors as a co-chair. She joined on the Arts for All Abilities Consortium’s Values Group from 2015-2016 and was a member of the Steering Committee from 2016-2017. Most recently, Hanaah participated in the 2018 Nonprofit Leadership & Strategy in Changing Times Fellowship through Community Resource Exchange and the Nonprofit Coordinating Committee and the 2019-20 Adaptive Leaders As Cultural Innovators NYC cohort through EmcArts.
Senior Program Manager – Arts Education
Luciana Farias is an Argentinian flamenco artist and Spanish Dance dancer and educator. In June 2019, Luciana was awarded a full scholarship for the “Spanish Dance and Flamenco Program” in Jacob’s Pillow School. Continually, she earned her certification from Community World Project in 2020 as a Teaching Artist. During 2019 and 2020 she conducted bilingual residencies as a Flamenco Teaching Artist at public schools and senior centers in New York City. Currently, she works as a Program Manager in Arts Educations, coordinating residencies for Flamenco Vivo Carlota Santana.
Development Manager
Puma Guerrero is a recent graduate of Dance at Oberlin College. While trained in multiple dance modalities, Puma focused most heavily on studying flamenco dance and history under Alice Blumenfeld and also concentrated in dance writing. Puma has continued their dance training by way of Flamenco Vivo’s Artist Development Series led by Leslie Roybal, where they are currently completing their second year. Puma now serves as Studio Manager for Flamenco Vivo Studios and is also co-editor of Flamenco Vivo’s weekly newsletter and creator of organic content for social media.
Project Coordinator
Rachel is a graduate of Fordham University earning a BFA in dance from the Ailey/Fordham dance program and a minor in Psychology. Rachel has had the privilege of performing internationally with JUNTOS Collective, a non- profit dance outreach organization, beginning in March 2011. She performed internationally and domestically with AATMA Performing Arts in their show Mystic India: The World Tour from 2013-2016. Rachel served as JUNTOSAbroad Program Director from 2012-2016 for JUNTOS Collective, and later transitioned to joining the Board of Directors and served as Board Secretary of JUNTOS Collective from 2016-2023. Rachel is currently a freelance dancer in the New York City/Tri-state area. She is a dancer with GPC Entertainment and Anja Dance Company. Rachel joined Flamenco Vivo Carlota Santana in 2022.
Program Coordinator – Artist Development
Allyssa Trujillo is a New Mexico-based dancer and performing artist. She is a graduate of the University of New Mexico with a Bachelor of Arts in Dance and a minor in Arts Leadership and Business. Allyssa began working with Flamenco Vivo in 2020 and has since been the Program Associate, supporting Leslie Roybal with all Evolución programming. Alongside her work with Flamenco Vivo, Allyssa is a freelancer, teaching, choreographing, and performing for organizations and events including Meow Wolf Santa Fe, Oregon Shakespeare Festival, and Bonnaroo Music & Arts Festival.
Studio Coordinator
Joshua Leon Eguia (All Pronouns Accepted) is a latinx artist based in NYC. Born in Texas, he attended the University of Houston school of Theatre and Dance where he earned dual degrees in both Acting and Dance. Since, their works have spanned the Dance, Choreography, Acting, Modeling and Commercial industries.
He has collaborated in the creation of original roles including with Vladimir Varnava for the International Touring Production of Natalia Osipova’s Isadora. They have danced and created with notable choreographers and companies including Karole Armitage, Christopher and Lauren Grant, The Metropolitan Opera Ballet, Alison Clancy, MinuteZero, Washington National Opera at the Kennedy Center, Bill T. Jones, Marc Jacobs, VRSNL, and Arthur Aviles Typical Dance Theatre.
His work has been commissioned by Dance Source Houston, SUNY FREDONIA, and has been presented by companies including Austin Dance Festival, Boston Contemporary Dance Festival, Four in the Mix, BAAD!, and Moving Men.
His works “The Mary Go Round Broke Down” and “Variance” have been awarded Best Choreography and Best Artist Collaboration. Joshua Leon Eguia is an ABT® Certified Teacher, who has successfully completed the ABT® Teacher Training Intensive in Pre-Primary through Level 3 of the ABT® National Training Curriculum.
