Answer: The Festival de Jerez!
Festival de Jerez is one of the most important flamenco festivals in Spain. Established in 1997, it consists of two weeks of live flamenco shows in theaters and wineries throughout the city including the great Teatro Villamarta and Jerez’s town hall. The festival has grown so big that it even spawned the Jerez Off Festival for smaller venues, and on top of theatrical performances by flamenco’s biggest stars, the festival has a spectacular night life that takes place in Jerez’s tablaos and peñas. More than just a bunch of shows, it’s a full cultural experience. This year Flamenco Vivo is proud to be sending Natallia Basava, winner of our Flamenco Certamen U.S.A., to experience the Festival de Jerez firsthand. And several artists who work with the Company are performing at the festival this year including Alberto Sellés, Florencia Oz, and Lucía la Piñona to name a few.
