Opportunities for funding

There are two exciting grant opportunities for NYC public schools. Schools participating in Summer Rising can receive $25,000 to bring Flamenco to their students this summer! Funding could provide a full flamenco program culminating in pop-up performances for the community! Imagine their little faces singing, dancing, and shouting ¡OLE! for the whole neighborhood to hear! The NYC Comes Back: Arts & Communities Recovery grant deadline is May 25th!

We are also excitedly waiting for the Office of Arts and Special Projects to open its Arts for Students with Disabilities and English Language Learners grant. Schools may be eligible for grant funding to bring a flamenco program to their students during the 2021-2022 school year! The grant application should open soon! Now is the time to start planning!

Applications for The Colmena Flamenca, a three-tiered framework of support for flamenco artists composed of the Artist Development Series, Flamenco Certamen USA, and Consorcio Flamenco are open! If you are interested or know someone who might be the application deadline is June 18, 2021.

6Hilos (6Threads), addresses the raw truth and reality of living through the pandemic as a society and as artists. We invite you to immerse yourselves in this virtual performance which takes place in significant spaces for each artist—places where abandonment is evident, but beauty continues to shine through. Witness this unique collaboration, as each of these stunning artists weaves an individual thread which is later combined into a collaborative performance – a technical feat only possible digitally.
