We’re thrilled to announce that Yasmina Yuexi is Flamenco Vivo’s 2024-25 Artist in Residence through AiRe. The residency includes 100 hours of free studio space, coaching, a network of resources, and the opportunity for a showing. In 2023, Yasmina won 1st Prize at Flamenco Certamen USA, which opened doors for her to perform at renowned venues such as Alegrías la Nacional (NYC) and Cava Tablao Flamenco (Miami.) In 2024, Yasmina was awarded a residency by the Museum of Chinese in America to develop her first show, focused on immigration and the power of art. Enhorabuena Yasmina!

At this year’s Latin Grammy Awards, two other nominees were up for flamenco: Vicente Amigo, a leading flamenco guitarist of our time, and Las Migas, the famous all-female flamenco quartet. This time around, Jerez-born guitarist Antonio Rey took home the prized gramophone for Best Flamenco Album with his new record Historias de un Flamenco. He expressed the meaningfulness of this moment to him, particularly given that his first win happened remotely during the early pandemic.
